Regent's Park Hotel

After a seven-hour drive from outside Malang, I checked in at the Regents Park Hotel Malang and found that my Agoda booking wasn’t what I expected. We’d wanted one bed, but the room had two separate beds. It also turned out Agoda hadn’t partnered with the hotel yet, so a third party, Tiket.com, was involved. Mr. Fathoni at reception explained the situation calmly and let us switch to the single-bed room we wanted, with no extra charge. The hotel is old, but its cleanliness and service are still well maintained. As usual, the room was spacious and tidy. Thank you to the Regents Park Hotel.

Glad I only booked one night. The receptionist wasn’t pleasant, I’d reserved a double bed but got twin beds, and there was no hot water in the room.

The bedsheets were supposedly fresh, but on the second day I found white and black stains on them. Totally unacceptable. My key card also stopped working every day, so each time I had to go back to the lobby and get it reprogrammed. There wasn’t a hairdryer or iron in the room, and apparently the hotel doesn’t have a single iron because they offer laundry service instead. That service is closed on Sundays. This was the worst hotel experience ever.

The restaurant food was average, and the staff service could use some work. After serving us, we didn’t see anyone around. I only visited for lunch with a friend. The hotel is old, but still seems well maintained and clean.
