We arrived late in the evening after a long, tiring trip and found ourselves with nowhere to stay. Even though we had booked ahead and received a proper confirmation, the hotel told us it had no rooms left. They had given ours away, with no advance warning, no real apology, and no solution beyond a dismissive “sorry, we’re fully booked.” Being stranded in an unfamiliar place was incredibly stressful. A confirmed booking should mean the room is held for you. This showed a complete lack of respect for guests and a failure of basic hospitality. The whole experience felt disorganized and deeply unprofessional. If reliability matters to you, avoid this place.

That little fish fountain just outside our room was so peaceful, and we loved the breakfast and the atmosphere too. Alam was a lovely surprise. We booked only about five minutes ahead, so Kevin seemed a bit confused by the short notice, which was completely understandable, but everyone was still very kind. The hotel is small, quaint, tidy, and just as described. Kevin and the rest of the staff were great with guests, always friendly and helpful.

Ubud's city center is about 4 km away, so you'll need a motorbike or car, but the quiet setting made the distance worthwhile. Kevin and his family were wonderful, and they kindly handled our laundry as well. During a month of traveling in Asia, this was our most peaceful and beautiful stay, with very clean rooms and such warm hospitality. Breakfast was cooked to order, with lots of choices. I traveled alone as a woman and felt this was a peaceful, safe place to stay. It's a local-style accommodation surrounded by nature. The rooms are clean and new, the local staff are courteous, friendly, and helpful, and they make a great breakfast.
