The rooms are average, but reasonable for the price. The hospitality during our stay was wonderful. After the August 2018 earthquake, the staff cared for and protected earthquake victims, whether or not they were hotel guests. They provided food, drinks and shelter outside the hotel during those terrible moments. Much respect to the staff, and thank you for everything.

I always come away with warm memories when I revisit Grand Legi. Some of its photo displays feel nostalgic, like visiting my granny’s house. The hotel has many rooms for different events, from meetings and formal functions to weddings. Its downtown Mataram location is easy to reach by various kinds of public transport, and there are many places nearby within walking distance.

It’s a shame, since this used to be one of the best hotels in Mataram, but the rooms and services haven’t been updated. The lounge is nice enough, with a big TV screen and a fairly large, somewhat artistic pool. In the room, some lights didn’t work, the curtain was dusty, and there were cigarette butts and ashes in the drawer. I also don’t think the carpet was clean. Check your sheets if you stay here: mine hadn’t been changed until I asked, and showed photos as proof.

The room is spacious, and there’s a bathtub in the bathroom. Breakfast got a bit boring after three days, though it wasn’t that bad. Grand Legi is one of Mataram’s earliest hotels, with a warm, old-fashioned feel. It’s a good hotel.
