Budi Sun Resort

Lunch and dinner could be better, especially for the prices. Still, the staff were nice, breakfast was good, and my room was clean, comfortable, and lovely. It was the best room I had during several weeks of traveling in Flores. A beautiful, peaceful place.

My dad and I loved our week here. It's right on the beach, and we never got bored during our seven nights, though this isn't the place for busy city life or lots of tourist attractions. I liked the quiet, but it's worth bearing in mind. We rented a bike to explore more of the area. Getting around without one seems a bit harder, though not impossible. The resort is beautiful and clearly cared for with love. They clean the beach every day, and when you go to the pool, they clean your spot and put a soft mat on the chair. All the little details are covered. Special thanks to Rykard at reception, who relaxed with us and was always up for a nice conversation.

We planned to stay at Budi Sun Resort for four nights, but liked it so much that we added another. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the restaurant food was amazing, freshly cooked and full of flavor. We even think it was the best food we had in Flores. The pool was a great extra, and the beach beds were wonderful for relaxing. Great value for money, highly recommended.

The restaurant could be a little confusing at times, though the staff were very likeable, and breakfast was a bit sparse aside from the delicious homemade bread. The taxi into town is also very expensive, but it's easy to flag down an ojek on the main road. Those are small complaints. I had a fantastic, relaxing three days at this peaceful retreat about 15 km from Maumere and felt very welcome. My bungalow was spacious, cozy, comfortable, and clean, with a private balcony, garden, and direct beach access. The staff were friendly, and it was very good value for what you get.
