Amir Hamzah Residence 123 is right in the city, close to lots of malls and shops. Handy if you've forgotten something or want to buy a gift. The room was clean and the service was good. It's nicely designed, and each room has its own shower bathroom, though there’s only one toilet per floor. Coming from outside Medan? From Kualanamu Airport, you can take the ALS bus for about 20k and roughly 1 hour 25 minutes, or the train for 90k and around 30 minutes. If you take the bus, get off at Gagak Hitam, then you can book an Ojek for 10000 to Amir Hamzah Residence. That ride takes about 10 minutes.

I ended up paying twice. I booked through Agoda, but they told me the booking hadn't been confirmed, so I paid cash for the room. Turns out the Agoda booking was fine. :-(
