Cambridge Hotel Medan

Doharma at the front desk made a real difference. He was warm, professional, and attentive, made check-in easy, patiently answered my questions, and gave me useful recommendations. The reception team also made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The staff’s hospitality was excellent, and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Everything else about the hotel was good. My checkout was at 11, so I thought I’d play table tennis, but they had bats and no ball. Why not have balls ready for guests when there’s a sports shop in the shopping center next door, with an entrance connected to the hotel?

The food and breakfast were delicious and high quality, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and always smiling. The city-center location is really convenient, and I had a comfortable stay in Medan. Special thanks to Tesa Anggriawan for her kindness, professionalism, and warm hospitality, and to the Reception team for being helpful throughout my stay. Highly recommended.

Our room was clean and comfortable, but the pool and gym felt standard and unremarkable. The stay at Cambridge lacked a personal touch, and the service felt routine. We also had problems with unclear information from the start. The entrance security guard didn’t explain where in-house guests should park, which left us confused. Maya made check-in quick and kindly gave us a dining discount voucher, but didn’t explain the subtotal and total rules, so we couldn’t use it and paid the regular price. We appreciated the Dino-costumed guy entertaining the kids in the lobby queue. The kids liked the balloons, and they enjoyed the welcome drink. Breakfast on the 26th floor was the biggest letdown. With a toddler, we couldn’t find a baby chair, and the staff seemed too busy to help, so we had to drag one over from across the room. The runners in black shirts focused more on clearing tables than helping guests, and even getting extra napkins was difficult. The Chef at the eggs station was the one person who stood out, attentive and enthusiastic. We felt the staff lacked empathy and clear communication, as if they were just going through the motions. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable staycation.
