I ended up booking this hotel at the last minute after having to cancel my Airbnb. The host hadn’t responded with the exact address. The lobby smelled lovely and made a good first impression, but the room smelled bad, so I changed rooms. The next one had a bad-smelling pillow and weak air conditioning. For two nights, my key card wouldn’t open the door, first because of the door battery and then because the card itself was faulty. On the second night, I found the shower gel empty and there was no toilet paper. When I mentioned this at checkout, the receptionist said I should have asked them to refill the gel, since staff might not notice an empty bottle in a dark color. I’d expected this to be checked while the room was tidied the next morning. They should take responsibility instead of telling guests what to do. The stay wasn’t convenient, and there’s plenty to improve.

After our five-day trip from Danau Toba through Berastagi to Medan, this was a good place to stay. Breakfast was simple but tasted great, and the clean, absorbent bath towels were a rare treat for a hotel in this class. The room size was average for a two-star place. The pillows could be more comfortable, and the bed could be firmer for someone with back pain. The AC worked well, though it was a bit noisy. I’d recommend it.

Ronald showed us the rooms they had in mind for our four kids and us, and checked that they’d suit our needs. The staff welcomed us warmly and handled things very professionally. We agreed on the rooms after that and stayed several days, extending our stay a few times.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but my room smelled bad, so I asked to change it. The lift was quite slow and couldn’t take many people. I also found that the walk-in rate was much cheaper than booking through Agoda.

The building’s old, but inside it was very clean. The hot water and Wi-Fi worked well, and the towel was white, fresh, and looked new. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Cheap price, nice breakfast.
