We checked out just minutes after checking in. The room was in terrible shape, and the toilet was dirty and smelled bad. It felt completely unsuitable for Muslims.

This guesthouse is also available for couples who are not married to stay briefly, which seems inappropriate to me given it’s in a residential neighborhood near the mosque, about 200 meters away. I also feel for the only staff member, who apparently has to cover reception, security, and cleaning around the clock for very little pay.

The room was pleasant, though the bathroom could use a better clean. It’s a small, convenient inn in the Medan Johor area, within the Johor Indah Permai 1 residential block.
