House of Zaza Zizi

I've spent six months traveling around Asia on a tight budget, and this was the dirtiest place I've seen. The staff were friendly, but sadly nobody spoke English. We couldn't sleep all night because a family of rats kept grunting and running around above the ceiling. I'm usually fine with a rat or two in a building, but this was too much. Skip the included breakfast, you'll see why when you get it. There are much better places in Medan for 250,000 rps.

For a cheap stop in Medan for a night or two, this place does the job. The people are nice, and while the room could be in better shape, at seven dollars per person I can overlook it.

The staff were helpful and called a cab for me at checkout. I'd use Blue Bird Taxi to avoid getting overcharged. Breakfast is included, though it's basically toast and tea. It's an inexpensive, simple place near a big mall and an Indian temple.

The location is great, but paying less doesn't mean there aren't other places to stay.
