Wisma Sederhana Budget Hotel

The staff seem friendly, WiFi in my room had a good signal and was reasonably fast, and the city location is great. My room had no window, as many rooms here don't, but the bathroom and sheets were clean, everything seemed to work, and the door locks. I'm just not sure how well that lock would keep anyone out. For a cheap place to stay, it's a decent choice.

The staff were kind and answered our questions, but the room really needs a deep clean. There were mold patches and bad stains on the white walls, the bathroom smelled, and the AC was hard to control. We could also hear a lot of street noise. The first room smelled awful and was clearly too humid, with no window, so we asked to move, even though the replacement had two single beds instead of one double. When we pushed the beds together, dust came out from underneath. For the price, it wasn't very good.

We spent five days in a standard room and had a nice stay overall, though the ventilation and cleanliness need attention. The room had all the facilities we needed, including tissues, shower soap, a phone, mirrors, and hot water. Staff were kind and helpful, even though not everyone understood English, which was okay for us. The room was moldy and poorly ventilated, and the sheets needed cleaning. You can ask staff to change them. We brought our own air freshener on the first day because we couldn't stand the musty smell. It's among the busiest malls, but you need indriver to get to most places, and trips take time because of heavy traffic. Medan seems to have traffic jams everywhere. I'd recommend the hotel, especially to foreigners, but ask staff to clean the room on your first day. I also suggest management ventilate all the rooms and deal with the mold. That could make this one of the best hotels. Thanks.
