Marahai Villa Morotai

I stopped by for a quick survey. The villas suit a getaway, whether you're two people or a bigger group, and they look straight out to sea. The beach is just 100m away, with white sand. Lately the weather's been bad and trash has washed onto the beaches, so I'm waiting for the local government to clean it up.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Such a beautiful place!

I didn't stay overnight, but came by for food twice. The burgers were good, and on another visit the beef garo rica was delicious. They were out of gado gado and a few other dishes, unfortunately. The avocado and soursop juices were great, and there's karaoke if you feel like singing. The lobby and restaurant have lovely decor. I also looked at a superior double room, though it felt stuffy and too hot because the trees haven't grown in yet. The beach is directly accessible. It had just rained, and getting in on a motorbike felt a little unnerving.

I didn't stay in the end. The beach bungalows are luxurious and designed by Westerners, but very expensive if you're traveling through. The food was okay, and the beach is stunning, though tides, wind, and seaweed make it hard to access. It's remote and luxurious, with the wind picking up from noon.
