Maliana Homestay

I feel cheated. We paid for the room a week before arriving, but there was a long wait on arrival because the reservation had been entered incorrectly. In the end, we paid for the same room again. When I noticed the first payment, I contacted the staff at their number. They read my messages and didn't reply. One man said he'd call, but nearly three weeks have passed and I still haven't heard anything. They haven't refunded us. This feels dishonest and shows no care for customers. I definitely don't recommend this place.

We had a great stay apart from the payment issue, but we do NOT recommend this homestay. The owner scammed our credit card and stole from us. If you still choose to book, don't pay through PayPal. Use cash only.

The views, people, and community were magnificent. We spent seven days in Bali, with three in Munduk, and it was incredible. Our basic top-floor bungalow met our needs, and the views were priceless. Everything was super clean, and breakfast was brought to our balcony each morning. There are four waterfalls within walking distance, another four a very short bike ride away, and plenty more within a half-hour drive. We did one day of trekking with a local Munduk guide and another day of self-guided touring. Local cocoa, cloves, coconuts, luwak Cooffee, and spices were right at our fingertips. We ate at three places within walking distance, and all were cheap, tasty, and filling. Things get busy around 6-7pm, so get there early. We had five days' worth of laundry done next door. It was affordable, and finding it pressed and super clean in our room at the end of a long day felt like Christmas. We love animals, so the roosters were a nice sound, along with the prayers at 6am and 6pm.

The VIEWS from Maliana Homestay were WOW! Waking up to the sunset from the large balcony was a perfect start to the day. The location was easy to reach, walkable, and very good value. The rooms were spacious and clean, with plenty of hot water, and breakfast was included, huge, and delicious. After a long moto trip, we could relax straight away. The family had cold beer ready and sat with us to chat about where to go and the best place for dinner. They're the sweetest people. We'd absolutely stay again and recommend it to everyone. When we're in Munduk, Bali, Indonesia, this is where you'll find us. Thank you! @eyecool
