Abasan Hill Hotel and Spa

The peaceful atmosphere made this stay at Abasan Hotel in Nusa Penida especially memorable. Our room was comfortable, and the pool was spotless with a beautiful hill view. Miss Novelia even brought breakfast to our room early, which was so kind. We were greeted with real warmth, big smiles, cold towels, juice, and fresh fruit. Their dog Sambal was very sweet, too. A lovely, relaxing place in West Nusa Penida, highly recommended. ❤️

The price seemed fair for what was provided, but the hotel didn't live up to its online photos. Getting there is difficult, and its remote location made it harder to reach the rest of the island. The rooms weren't impressive or clean compared with other places we stayed in Bali. Loud music from another venue disturbed us at night, then nearby Muslim prayers woke us in the early morning and disrupted our sleep and plans for the day. It isn't the paradise the photos suggest.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the view of monkeys in the trees was lovely. The natural setting was amazing too. But the rooms were tiny, and the bathroom was in very bad, dirty condition. Even the tissue baskets were left open. The restaurant closes early, and sometimes shuts once the food runs out. There's no hair dryer in the rooms. For me, the staff and view were the only good parts. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who expects clean rooms and amenities, and it doesn't deserve more than three stars.

We stayed in the suite, which was a great place to unwind after diving, freediving, or exploring the island. The restaurant was really good, and the relaxed atmosphere felt far from the big resorts and city. The pool was clean, and a tiny, sweet female dog was always around looking for cuddles. Thanks to all the lovely staff, especially Nofal, who even came to the harbour to collect the money we'd stupidly forgotten to pay for dinner. Such a kind gesture! 🫶🙏❤️
