Family Guest House

Nyoman, the owner, really goes out of her way to make guests comfortable. The rooms are roomy and cozy, breakfast is filling and nutritious, and the hospitality is excellent. It feels safe, there’s plenty nearby, and the location is hard to beat. The price is very good too. It’s such a gem, and I’ve already told friends and family about it. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in Ubud.

There are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance, but what made this my favorite place in Bali was the family running it. They made me feel at home, always with a smile nearby. My room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the AC kept it cool, and the bathroom was clean and roomy. I’d love to come back.

I stayed here for a couple of months and felt at home. The family were kind, friendly, and always helpful, and their hospitality made the time memorable. The garden is lush and peaceful, with the family temple and traditionally crafted buildings adding to the setting. It’s a traditional Balinese family compound, immersed in greenery but only moments from Ubud’s lively center. The homestay sits on one of Ubud’s four central streets, with restaurants and activity all around, while the rooms are set back from the road and stay quiet. Everything was clean and tidy, and the garden was a great place to relax and recharge. It’s a special mix of culture, comfort, and community for a short or long stay.

Even after spending several months at the Family Guest House, I still missed the place when I left. I became close with the family, and we’ve kept in touch since. The rooms and grounds were impeccable, and I had a wonderful time in the calm, authentic Balinese surroundings. It’s right in the center but remains very quiet. I’d recommend it to anyone curious about the everyday life of a Balinese family.
