Akatara Hotel

Dipa at reception was so friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated the complimentary coffee from the hotel's decent coffee machine. Breakfast tasted good, and they let us check out an hour later to fit our morning boat trip. The hotel was clean, pleasant, and affordable for a short stay. It's a few minutes' walk from the harbour, with restaurants and other amenities nearby. There's scooter rental and a travel agency across the road, plus Warung Suroboyo, with delicious local food, about 50 meters away. It had everything we needed, thank you!

The room and breakfast area were decent for the price, and the food was okay. We paid about $25 a night in February, which felt like good value, especially with the harbour and plenty of restaurants and stores just a short walk away. But it was noisy for much of the evening and night, including very loud religious music that went on for hours. Our mini fridge broke and ruined all our food, which was really frustrating. The location makes it good value, but don't count on a quiet or trouble-free stay.

The room was clean and spacious, and the service was very good throughout our stay at Akatara Hotel. It's close to the Harbour of Toya Pakeh, so getting there was easy. There's also Sri Mart, a convenience store, and cafes nearby. Recommended for a stay in Nusa Penida!

The only real plus was being close to the harbour's boat pickup and drop-off point. The front desk staff weren't very welcoming, and the rooms were just okay, with sticky-feeling floors and towels that had holes. Breakfast came from a set menu, one main and one drink, either fresh juice or coffee, but the juice didn't taste good. I ordered a sandwich too, and the bread seemed really old and dry. This didn't feel like a three-star hotel.
