Banana Guest House

We were two girls backpacking from Switzerland and spent one night at the guest house. The family welcomed us so warmly, offered us dinner after their ceremony, and left a platter of fruit for the next day. Our bungalow was cute and really clean, the bathroom was good, and towels were included. If you want to spend an authentic moment with local people, I’d absolutely recommend staying here. I’ll always remember those lovely people and our time with them.

There was no WiFi when I visited, though I believe they planned to add it. The bathroom didn’t have hot water, but the flow was good and the sun warmed it a little during the day. The room was big, the bed was good, and there was a mosquito net. No aircon, but the fan kept me cool enough. It’s lovely accommodation for the price, with a great sea view. It had opened in May 2017 and was still in great shape when I stayed. It’s run by a local primary school teacher and his wife. I’d stay again.

The hosts were so kind. They helped us change our boat ticket back to Bali, showed us how to find cheaper tickets, and pointed out the best sites to visit. For a reasonable price, this homestay is more than worth it.

The rooms were the cleanest and nicest, and the gentleman who runs the place was lovely. He lent us motorbikes and helmets for a great price. I left my passport there and had already gone back to Bali, so I had to make the trip all the way back. When I arrived, he was there with my passport and a lovely smile. Seriously awesome place, 10/10, thanks so much!
