Daghan Cottage Nusa Penida

We made the most of our time here, especially relaxing by the pool. The staff were kind and welcomed us warmly, and on request they brought us floating breakfast with cut fruit. Our wooden cottages were cozy and attractive, with quite large, clean rooms and bathrooms. It’s easy to find on the main road and close to the market. I’d highly recommend it, it’s a great place!

The staff were really nice, but among the three-star hotels we stayed in across Indonesia, this was the worst. There’s a lot the property needs to improve to keep pace with other places. We were assigned one of the older cottages, and although the newer ones are probably nicer, you can’t really choose when booking. Either way, several things need attention: the bathroom needs an upgrade, towels and sheets were old and heavily stained, and the pool loungers were in very poor condition. There was no refill station, just one 0.6 L bottle per person each day, and our room had no safe.

We had a pleasant stay. The host arranged a driver for the main beaches and a snorkelling trip to see mantas. Shops, warungs, and the night market were all within walking distance, and the port was only a 10-minute walk away. The room and swimming pool were clean, breakfast was good, and bottled water was supplied daily.

The cottages were beautiful, with a big pool right in the middle of the grounds, and breakfast was delicious. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Komank was especially warm and always smiling. He’d ask what we were doing that day, explain the island and the activities we could do, and point out destinations we should visit. In the afternoon he’d ask about breakfast for the next morning, always with that friendly smile.
