Kelingking Point

A decent place at reasonable rates, with friendly and helpful staff. The pool is nice, and the rooms are average but comfortable. They have air conditioning and hot water at the tap and shower, but no refrigerator. Bikes can be rented at the hotel or nearby warungs. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the T-Rex viewpoint at Kelingking Beach, and there’s an Ace Money Exchange center nearby. Beach parking is right in front of the hotel and hotel guests aren’t charged. Watch out for locals trying to collect parking fees, you can decline or ask the honest hotel staff for help.

The hotel is in a great spot near the T-rex beach. The rest of our one-night stay, which was part of a tour, was frustrating. When we arrived, staff didn’t know who we were and kept asking us to prove we were supposed to stay there. Then breakfast, which we were told started at 7:30 am, took more than 30 minutes to arrive even though we were there on time. We had to leave for our tour at 8, so we rushed through the simple meal. Staff also seemed detached and unhelpful, a sharp contrast with the excellent service we’d had elsewhere.

The view is great, the pool is awesome, and the beaches next to the hotel are stunning. Service was fantastic, especially from Ari, who went out of his way to help with anything we needed. We’d left some clothes behind, and he helped send them on to our next location.

The location right beside Kelingking beach and the pleasant swimming pool were the good parts of our one-night stay. We’d booked the hotel as part of a tour, but unfortunately it was our worst hotel experience in Indonesia. At check-in, the staff seemed unaware of our booking and asked us to show proof of the reservation. Breakfast was another problem. We arrived promptly for the 7:30 am start because our tour left at 8:00, but a simple order took over 30 minutes, leaving us to eat in a rush. Staff felt detached and unhelpful, quite unlike the service we’d received at other places. Those operational problems made for a very poor stay.
