Kubu Ganesh

We were a group of eight friends staying at Kubu Ganesh guesthouse while visiting Nusa Penida, and the welcome was lovely. The rooms are beautifully done in wood, with large, comfortable beds, and the bathroom was good too. Waking up to that view straight onto the island’s north beach was magnificent. I recommend it!

Philippe knows the island inside out and gave us great tips on where to go and what to do. Both times, he even put together an itinerary for each day. We stayed here in February 17, had such a good time that we came back in February 18, and both trips were unforgettable for me and my partner. The host has clearly thought through every part of a stay at Kubu Ganesh. In my opinion, the location is the best on the island, tucked away from the tourist hotspots but still close to the main shops and restaurants. The rooms have what you need on Penida and no distractions, and they’re cleaned daily. Philippe and the staff always met our questions and requests with a smile and excellent service. He also sorted out all our transport to and from the island, plus a scooter. Make sure to join Philippe and the other guests for dinner on your first night. If you want to relax, explore, and get good advice, stay here and give yourself at least 3-4 full days. Thank you!

Kubu Ganesh is such a calm, quiet place, and we had a great time here. The breakfast is delicious, and you can go snorkeling right at the end of the garden. Thanks, Jim, for taking us to some of the best hidden spots on this beautiful island :)

The guesthouse has a big, beautiful meadow with trees facing the ocean, plus a gazebo nearby that’s lovely for morning coffee and dates. The rooms are spacious and cosy, the kitchen is well equipped, and the owner and staff are very friendly. The French owner, Jimm, can help with anything you need and give you ideas for exploring Nusa Penida. There’s also Mowgly, a very sweet Bali dog. Remember to bring a treat when you come.
