The view from the upper part of our room was absolutely breathtaking, and the Indonesian sea is so beautiful! The staff were warm and friendly, making sure we had everything and were comfortable. They even helped us get our motorbike fixed. Thank you so much, we loved this location! 🙏🥹🇮🇩

The sea view was great, and the kitchen staff were kind and provided good service. The rest of our experience was very poor. A staff member who goes by the name Didiana said they could book fast boat tickets on the hotel's behalf. I paid 1600k in cash, but the tickets were for the wrong locations and would ideally have cost only 1000k. I then had to pay for a taxi and travel over two hours to the airport, nearly missing my flight. Be careful, don't pay money in advance, and ask for receipts even when paying for your stay. The bathroom water was salty, and the pool looked good only in the photos, it was dirty and salty too. Our room wasn't clean, and there are no shops nearby unless you hire a scooter.

Putu was so friendly with guests, and everything was well maintained. We had a wonderful stay with a beautiful ocean view.

The setting at Manta Cottage is lovely, with greenery all around and an unobstructed sea view from the pool. The cottage and view were breathtaking at first, check-in was easy, and the staff were super friendly. They arranged a harbor transfer for us at a reasonable price. Still, several parts of the stay were disappointing. The water in the pool and bathroom was salty, and it damaged our clothes and jewelry. Bathroom water would randomly stop, then return after a few minutes, and the shower pressure was very low. The pool had bugs and wasn't cleaned regularly. Our rooms weren't cleaned regularly either, and we had to ask when they got very messy. Drinking water wasn't replenished regularly, so we bought our own. There was no fridge, hairdryer, or other basic necessities in the rooms. One room's AC was very poor. Reception moved us to another room where it was better, though still not great. A bed in one room broke in the middle of the night. Staff said they'd fix it, but when we returned and sat on it, it broke again. We found rotten wood in the bed, and staff had only added nails to address it. We managed the remaining nights by being extra careful. The restaurant at reception only offered three breakfast choices until 10 am, with no food after that. The nearest other restaurant was a ten-minute drive away, so without a scooter or ride you'd have a long walk for food. We found a warung about 20 minutes away that agreed to deliver for a fee. There are also a lot of stairs, so the hotel isn't suitable for disabled or handicapped guests. It was a decent stay in some ways, but the owner should look into improving the service. We hope to visit again someday and find things better.

The sea views from our big, clean, airy rooms were gorgeous, and the pool was a nice extra. Bathrooms had bathtubs, bidets, and hot water. Staff were friendly and accommodating, though English communication was a little challenging. Breakfast was included, with a choice of eggs and toast, pancakes, or nasigoreng, plus a drink. We had to leave a terrible place at the last minute, and this one was within walking distance and reasonably priced. There are many stairs to reach the rooms and no lift. It's in an isolated part of the island, peaceful if that's what you want, but there isn't much to do on this side and it gets very quiet after sunset. The restaurant was very average, so I'd walk a bit to eat at D'Ana or Seatara instead. For getting around Nusa Penida, I'd recommend hiring a car. The roads are narrow and hilly, and riding a bike may be dangerous.
