Wait Garden Cottage

My friends and I had a great stay here in August 2025. The rooms were comfortable and the staff really nice and helpful. There's plenty within walking distance, including the port if you're up for it, and the location isn't far from there. It was noisy overnight, though, so I'd suggest bringing earplugs.

The staff didn't respond well, and they wouldn't change our room even though it had issues like a loose toilet seat and wobbly taps. They argued that these made no real difference and wouldn't cause a problem. I eventually let it go because I didn't want to ruin my day, then saw them laughing at us in a corner. They speak poor English. They also talk to taxi drivers to raise fares and get a commission on each trip. As a strict vegetarian, I was disappointed there were only two vegetarian choices, noodles and rice, and they served me a vegan sandwich whose bread contained egg. Staff argued about that too, and the food sucks.

The staff made the stay really pleasant from the start. They were friendly and sweet, gave me tips for beaches to explore, and made it easy to rent a scooter. My clean bed was comfortable, and I felt at ease in the room. It had a fridge that wasn't noisy at night. The location worked well for me, fairly near the harbour and town, with a good distance to the beaches. Breakfast was simple but good, and the coffee from their good machine was a highlight. A few small things could be improved, but I enjoyed my stay and thought it was great value.

The location is hard to beat, very close to the harbour and about 30-40 minutes from all the important beaches. There are only eight cottages, each equipped with amenities and facilities, with a cute little room. The staff are kind and super helpful, and the dishes are a small selection but delicious. Reviews on Google had it right. All the Bali hotels we stayed at were nice and had helpful staff, but this was the best of them all. My highest recommendation.
