The room itself was comfortable and roomy, with working AC, hot and cold water, and everything in good condition. But getting around was a hassle, and there aren't restaurants close by. I asked about renting a scooter and was offered an old, badly maintained one for 100,000 IDR a day. I walked about 19 minutes to the main street instead and found a nearly new scooter for 80,000 IDR, which made the first offer feel like poor value. The receptionist was friendly, though service could be better. He didn't speak English and only gave me the scooter price, with no explanation. His expression made it seem as if I was meant to agree without asking questions. When I asked about breakfast another time, he showed me a WhatsApp message listing five dishes, but there were no descriptions, details about what came with them, or prices.

I usually don't leave bad reviews, but this was the worst value I've had at this price in Indonesia. I checked out a day early, and nobody was there when I arrived to check in at 5 pm. The room smelled awful and was worn out. There was a large crack in the front door that let you look right inside, and being next to the road meant a lot of noise. I'm a fairly heavy sleeper and still got woken up often. The location was rough too, with only two overpriced restaurants within walking distance.

The host was so friendly. I bought packet noodles and they even offered to cook them for me. The room was clean and spacious, the bed comfortable, and the AC worked well. Really recommend it.

We first booked just one night, but there was a problem with our credit card and no room available the next day. The staff found a way to help us book an extra night, so we stayed for two days and felt relaxed the whole time. We had lots of chats with them about Indonesia. They were kind, funny, and spoke English really well. After visiting Kelingking and Angel Billabong, we weren't sure where to go next, and "Captain Shark" suggested places like The diamond beach and Atuh Beach. The view is amazing, the room was clean, and the bungalow staff were very helpful. Security and Gruphy, the two dogs there, are adorable and love being around people. We were also given an idea for a romantic dinner with Bali Cider. It was a lovely trip and you made my day. Thanks so much, everyone!
