Tunjung Kuning Creative Villas

With only a few bungalows, it was quiet and calm, and the rooms were very clean and spacious. Alan was a wonderful host and made me feel at home. I had a great stay, and discovering Nusa Penida from this cottage was the highlight of my Bali trip.

The staff are very friendly, and the place has four detached rooms with double beds, bedside tables and lamps, dressers, and semi-outdoor bathrooms. It was clean, with a nice clean pool and breakfast service. It’s also very secluded, with little nearby, so you’ll need an expensive taxi or a rental car to get there. That’s fine if you want isolation, but awkward if you’re a tourist. There are a lot of house geckos, and they leave droppings on the floor, which gets annoying. I found three scorpions in the room, which was very cool, though I’d rather they stayed outside. I also found a Brahminy blind snake in the room. No idea how it got in, so I put it out in the flowerbed. 😂

Allan made things easy for our group, sorting out scooter rental, a ride back to the harbour, and local tips. We stayed in three of the four houses, and they were all clean, spacious, safe, and comfortable, with good air conditioning and mattresses. We were here in October 2023 and would definitely recommend it.

We’ve stayed at some lovely places during our Bali trip, but this little cottage is the one that won us over. It’s compact and has everything you need on the island. Allan was so hospitable and helpful, always ready to lend a hand. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.
