Wayan and the team were some of the best hosts we’ve had the fortune to meet. We’re grateful for all the time and effort they put in, and my partner and I would happily stay again if we return to Nusa Penida. The setting was excellent, up the hill and away from the main road along the beachfront, about five minutes by scooter. We reached most of the island’s beaches and viewpoints in around 45 minutes, depending on road conditions. The ocean views sit among jungle terrain beyond the property grounds, and the pool and grounds were very well kept. We were greeted with smiles and juice. The room was great, the bed comfortable, and there was working aircon, Wi-Fi, and a fridge. The washroom had an open roof. They tidied and changed the bedding daily, and kept the room clean. Service was professional and attentive, with fresh water and toiletries provided. They also gave us fresh coconut and, because we stayed a while, fed us twice free of charge, which was generous. Breakfast had a good choice, cooked to order each morning, and was always really good. We were very impressed.

The nearby food choices are limited if you’re vegetarian. We found Bollywood Cuisine to be the closest vegetarian-friendly restaurant, with great Indian dishes. At Hotel Villa Villah, we got an unexpected free room upgrade, which made the stay even nicer. Just two or three hardworking women seemed to run the place, and they handled everything with warmth and dedication. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the whole atmosphere felt peaceful and welcoming. A fantastic choice if you like personal service and a homely feel. I’d definitely recommend it.

A little more variety at breakfast would be a nice addition. Otherwise, we had a great stay and would be happy to come back. It’s a peaceful place for couples or friends to return to after exploring the island. Villa Villah is well placed for Nusa Penida sightseeing, and the resort helped us arrange a driver and cab. It’s a paid service, but convenient and well organized. Beachside cafés including Secret Penida and Mambo are just a short distance away, good for sunset or a relaxed meal by the ocean. Our room was clean and comfortable, and suited us well for a few days of exploring.

I felt really safe and looked after as a solo woman traveler. The staff were always ready to help with anything, whether it was food, transport, or tours. The room was huge, with a lovely outdoor bathroom, bathtub, and shower. There’s a relaxing pool with sunset views too. It’s only a 5-10 minute scooter ride to the main restaurant street, but far enough from the bustle to sleep peacefully.

The breakfasts were delicious, especially the pancakes, and all the services were great, including laundry and scooter rentals. The rooms were comfortable and very well cared for. Everything was spotlessly clean, with lovely quality towels and bed linen. Villa Vilah is a beautiful new addition and the gardens and pool are gorgeous and very well maintained. A huge thank you to Gede, the manager. He welcomed us warmly, was professional, available, and incredibly kind. He answered all our requests and went out of his way to make things easy.
