Mega Permata Hotel

Breakfast had lots to choose from, and the staff were really friendly, which made the night more pleasant. It's a simple hotel that's fine for a stopover. My room was clean and comfortable, though ventilation was limited because there was no window.

There was a bed for the night, which was about the only upside to using this place as a pit stop. It was the dirtiest, most neglected place I've seen, as if it hadn't been cleaned since it was built. Even touching the elevator buttons felt gross, and the elevators themselves were filthy. Wouldn't recommend it.

The breakfast was tasty, generous, and enjoyable, but our room had a horrible smell, apparently from a dried-up animal carcass somewhere inside. The hotel couldn't fix it, so they eventually moved us to another room. While we were rushing to catch a flight, the room boy decided on his own to wash our dirty laundry without asking us. This was supposed to be one of the best hotels in town.

The location is right in the middle of town, and the water, toilets, and room were clean. The food was exceptionally good, and there was a range of great service too. To me, this is probably the most luxurious hotel you'll find in Padangsidimpuan, so there's little point looking elsewhere when you're already far from a big city. It could use more parking, though what it has is enough for now. (:
