OYO 90704 Nabila Residence Syariah

After getting fed up with complaints at RedDoorz yesterday, I switched to Oyo. That didn't go well either. I booked two rooms, then on arrival was told to pay extra. We were sent to another hotel without any notice in the app and left waiting around, with no explanation for an hour. Eventually we gave up and left. My money was forfeited, and I won't get it back. Very bad, be careful.

The room was a long way from the photo in the app. The walls had mold, there was no AC, and the bathroom was outside. Apart from the fan, there wasn't another power outlet, and there was just one pillow despite the room being listed for two. It looked more like a condominium. This was my first stay, and the price difference from the app was already a shock. The owner added a fee for payments under 200,000 Rupiah, even though we used the app and its promotions to get the lowest price. We also entered the date wrong. The hotel agreed to reschedule, but the room we got was still completely inadequate. I asked about an upgrade, but none was available. I even asked for the same room shown in the app for one guest, but couldn't add an extra bed. I don't mind paying, but the service and amenities need to match. I hope the place takes this feedback seriously, since it seems other people have run into the same problems too.

For anyone coming from out of town, it can be hard to find reliable accommodation information in Padang, so read the reviews carefully. The online rate didn't match what we were charged. They said rooms were around 220,000-300,000 Rupiah, meaning an online booking would still cost another 150,000 Rupiah on arrival. That seemed expensive for an Oyo. There was no breakfast, and even soap costing 2,000 Rupiah wasn't provided; the owner apparently had to sell it to their boss. We looked for somewhere else nearby that night and found DHAMARA Hotel on Jl. Jhoni Anwar, not far from Oyo Nabila. It was cheaper, clean, and seemed newly opened. The toiletries were all there, including soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, and towels, and breakfast was brought to our room in the morning. I hope future guests aren't disappointed at this Oyo Inn, and that the owner improves the place so it can earn better ratings 🙏

The inn's listing name on Agoda is Reddoorz Syariah @ near Khatib Sulaiman, but the name didn't match the place, and the location was different from the map. The price was different too, and they wanted extra fees. I'd booked on Agoda at a discounted rate and had cash back from a previous inn booking through Agoda cash. Instead of checking their own app, they looked at mine and argued that the transfer amount was what they'd received, even though the app had already deducted its portion. After things got tense, I insisted they check their app. Only then did they see they'd received more than the room price. They didn't even offer a short apology. Very unfriendly.
