Rego Hotel by OYO Rooms

Rego Homy Hotel is a lovely name for this place, because it really did feel like home. I found their number online and asked about an early check-in after arriving in Palu first thing in the morning. They welcomed me warmly into a tidy, nice room. Since my flight the next morning was early, they suggested I book a room without breakfast, but said I could have bread and cookies from the dining room. There was also water, tea, and coffee on every floor for guests to make themselves a drink. The owner, who I called ‘Om’, lives at the hotel. We chatted about my trip, and he told me about the beauty of Central Sulawesi. He and his wife were very sweet. After my morning flight was canceled, I went straight back from the airport to Rego. They gave me another room for the same price, even though I checked in that morning and my replacement flight wasn't until the afternoon the following day. The hotel is only around 15 mins from the airport. It's tucked into a housing complex, so it was quiet and I could rest after days on the road. Food was easy to find nearby, and there were plenty of online taxi and ojek drivers, so getting around or ordering something was easy. There were a few other guests staying there, friends of Om and Tante owner. They were sweet too, and I felt like I'd met aunts and uncles I'd lost touch with 😄 The staff were also really nice and helpful throughout my stay.

It feels cozy and familiar, almost like being at home.

The atmosphere was good.
