The view is the one thing that earns five stars here. The hotel seems to have seen better days, maybe back in Habibi’s time. It’s old, the sheets are worn, and the beds clearly haven’t been moved to clean underneath. Bathroom water barely trickles out, though the AC is new. The receptionist was friendly, but didn’t try to fix the room issue. We’d booked a king bed and were given twins; all she said was, “maaf pak, hotel full.” We were only passing through for one night on the way to the mountains, so it worked out, but at that price I won’t stay again.

You get a great look over Pare-Pare from up here, with the sea in view too. If scenery is what you want, this place has it. The cottage room was decent, while the main building was below average, with everything feeling old.

The cafe was great, with nice decorations, a good view, and waitresses who responded well. My room was just adequate for a short stay. There was no hot water for bathing, despite the plastic bathtub, and the room itself was nothing special. The view of Pare-pare city from my seat in the room was the highlight.

You do get the best view in pare-pare here, but the service was poor. They took an hour to clean the room I’d ordered, so I had to wait before I could go in. The deluxe room was old and dirty, and the restaurant wasn’t worth recommending either. I can’t understand why they haven’t renovated the hotel.

I came to Pare Pare for site work. The newer rooms are spacious and clean, but the old ones in the reception building aren’t very good. There’s a rooftop restaurant with a nice city view, and the food is OK.
