The best part was the staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. Communication was tough since they don't speak English. We booked the large VIP Deluxe Room, but it needs a lot of renovation. The air conditioning wasn't working properly, though I cleaned its very dirty filter and it worked better afterward. It's a very simple hotel, but for this price the rooms are okay.

The service was quick and really friendly. I paid 200 thousand for a very spacious room with two separate beds, an indoor bathroom, a TV, and a fan. The bathroom was clean, though there was no hot water. It was already quite cool in this area, so I'd say you don't really need a fan.

I chose this place from a few options when I came to meet my girlfriend's parents, and I was glad I did. The female clerk who served me was lovely, respectful, and well mannered, and spoke good English. The male staff didn't speak much English, but they understood me. The room was average, with no fridge, and the bathroom wasn't very clean and had no toilet paper. It did have AC and running hot water, which I enjoyed since people here take cold showers. The place was clean and tidy, and they delivered breakfast to the door. I'll stay here again when I come back to Padang.

For an affordable stay in Payakumbuh, this place worked well, and I was really satisfied with my stay. You can request extra beds if you're bringing more than one family member or friend. The one letdown for me was breakfast: the fried rice didn't have enough seasoning for my taste.
