Le Cliff Bali

The food was great and the staff were great too. Service starts at 0800, and they can bring food to your room. At low tide, you can walk to the nearby beach. Pack light. The climb to the hotel is what will get you, not the stairs to your room. It’s about six flights, depending on where you’re coming from. The location is wonderful.

The servers were honest, so I gave the service five stars. But after this visit I happily went two days without taking Tylenol, lol. We chose Le cliff for our first meal of the day after seeing Instagram reels, and it turned into a really annoying outing. From the parking area it’s a long way to the restaurant, with almost 200 steps down, followed by the white steps leading to Le Cliff. Once inside, we asked where the restaurant was and found that its few tables were already full. We went to Dreamsea instead, just a few steps upstairs. The view wasn’t really from the cliff, but from one floor above the restaurant, and the beach looked moldy to me. The climb down and back up could suit backpackers or budget travelers, since the rooms are affordable, and people with good knees. For me, it was a lot.

We stopped by their restaurant for lunch and got a lovely view. At first we were seated on the side without a view, then moved to a beachfront spot when some guests left. We ordered chicken wraps and watermelon juice. The juice glass was so skinny that it wasn’t enough, so I got a Sprite to finish my food. The wraps were spicier than I expected, so you might want to ask the waitress to adjust the heat.

The beach was clean, with lots of nice rock formations for photos. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel or eating at the cafe or restaurant, you can still access a certain part of the beach, though not the hotel or cafe area. The scenery is lovely, quiet, and relaxing, but getting there is tiring. From the main road it’s a short walk to the cliff, then about 3-5 minutes on stairs to the main hotel and cafe. It may be difficult for older people or anyone carrying a baby. We had pizza. It tasted okay, the portion was enough for two, and the price was reasonable. Service took a while despite the place not being busy. Staff were attentive and regularly cleaned and checked the area. We didn’t stay at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the rooms. We enjoyed a pleasant, relaxing visit to Le Cliff cafe, though the stairs wore us out. The view makes it worth dropping by if you have time.
