The Paang Homestay

The team deserves real credit for how quickly they handled problems. The pool was cloudy when we arrived, but they replaced the water that day, and a roof leak was fixed the next day. The owner and staff were friendly and responsive throughout. Still, the villa’s upkeep and finish don’t justify the price. The photos set a better impression than the place delivered: yellow grout, dirty, heavily scaled sink plugs, leaky windows, and workmanship and cleanliness below what I’d expect at this rate. The road in is in very poor shape, and we weren’t told before booking that a hotel is being built right beside the villa. That’s information people need in order to decide realistically. There isn’t much within an easy walk. Using a shortcut, Banyoo and the lake with 2Roots are about 10 minutes away, laundry is around 6 minutes, and a very nice kids club is roughly 15-20 minutes on foot. I’m sharing this to point out what needs attention, not to hurt anyone. The villa has potential, but cleanliness, construction quality, and maintenance need to meet the price being charged. If the rate is western, the standard should be too.
