Amaris Hotel Pekanbaru

It’s a 2-star hotel that feels more like a 4-star one to me, mostly because the staff are so welcoming and helpful. The room isn’t soundproof, but I still slept fine since everything got quiet by 10pm.

The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was surprisingly good for this kind of hotel. I also liked the eco-friendly water refill stations in the hallways and lobby. The location is fairly central, with lots of places to eat nearby and the airport not far away. We paid only 24 SGD, so it felt like good value, and we’d pick the same hotel again. The room was clean, spacious, and reasonably well soundproofed, so the two nearby mosques weren’t too disruptive. Some things are aging, though: the air conditioning could be stronger, and the bedsheets and towels could use replacing.

This was my second stay, and the hotel is still nice, with a quiet setting, friendly staff, and a good breakfast with plenty of choices. But this time there were lots of tiny cockroaches in the room, coming from under the bed and a hole in the wall beneath the sink. The room itself is okay, so please fix this. Thank you.

We booked three rooms for two nights with family. The hotel is in a good location and surprisingly quiet despite being between two large mosques. Breakfast was sufficient, and the staff were quick with check-in and check-out and kept the food replenished. For what we paid, it was worth it. The bathroom doors in all three rooms couldn’t be locked.
