The location is the one thing that earns this place another star. For a three star hotel, though, it felt badly run and not worth the price. The room was spacious, but everything looked at least ten years old, and there were pen marks on the wall. We had no hot water during our four days and three nights. When we called reception, a technician came and said the heater was broken, with no alternative and no prospect of a quick repair. There was no hair dryer in the bathroom either. Breakfast was limited, and refills took a long time. I only saw one or two restaurant staff. Across three mornings, the only dish that changed was the chicken or main dish. We also found a fly cooked into the food, which was shocking. The fitness centre was a letdown, with about four barbells and three very old machines. On top of that, our key card reset every day despite our three night booking, so we had to renew it each morning. They blamed keeping it near a phone, but that wasn’t what happened. The whole hotel situation was a mess.

The place was in much better shape a year ago when it was Ibiz Hotel. Since the new management took over, the standard has dropped. The shower head is broken, there’s no lid on the sink drain, and the carpets are stained. There were even mosquito larvae in the plant decoration set on the breakfast table, so who knows when the water was last changed. I’d rate this as a two star hotel. Other three star hotels in the city would be much better.

It’s an old hotel with plenty of parking, but it seems poorly maintained and not very well managed. Cleanliness, the air conditioner, and the toilet all need work. A lot needs replacing, repainting, and repairing. Still, it was nice.

I attended an event in the Grand Suka ballroom. The hotel catering wasn’t too bad, but the interior and exterior decor were nothing special, more like a hall. The parking lot is quite large, though it wasn’t clean. Management should pay attention to that and keep up the standard.

For what it costs, I don’t feel I got my money’s worth. The room smelled of cigar smoke, and so did the hallway. The bedroom looked neglected, there wasn’t any soap in the bathroom, and the breakfast was even worse than I’d expected. And that’s not all.
