The pool was nice, and Kadek did a great job arranging our snorkeling tour and our driver from Ubud. Sadly, the stay itself was a very poor experience. We were greeted coldly and rudely asked to pay right away. We knew we'd booked a basic room, but ours were unacceptably dirty: the curtains were more yellow than white, there was animal poo, and dead flies sat in spider webs. The breakfast was very basic and didn't taste good. After the first day, Mr. Putu asked what time we would leave on day two, even though we'd booked three days. On the third day, he also seemed clearly unhappy when we checked out at noon, as stated in the booking and their own conditions. We didn't even get a thank you or goodbye from Mr. Putu. Given the other reviews, we'd hoped for much better. I don't know why our stay turned out so badly.

A really nice place to stay, with lots of room and a wonderful pool.
We've been to Bali Gecko four times now and love it there. The staff are very friendly, and the rooms are clean and cleaned daily. Both the standard and luxury rooms are outstanding, and the prices are reasonable compared with other homestays. It's just five minutes by motorbike to a secluded beach, away from the big, noisy hotels. We'll definitely be back.
The host was very welcoming and ready to help with anything I needed. I had a wonderful time at Gecko homestay. It's very close to the beach, and I recommend staying here.
