I was really disappointed with my stay at GRAND KARTIKA HOTEL PONTIANAK, and I won't stay there again. The room smelled bad and the air conditioning wasn't working. We reported it to reception and a technician, but nobody repaired it or took any other action. We asked to move rooms because of the problem, and reception ignored the complaint. Management also took no responsibility, and we were charged 150,000rp for their mistake. A very bad experience.

For a hotel this big, it's a shame that there wasn't clean water. You couldn't even take a shower or anything.

Our first trip to Pontianak turned into a nightmare. The rooms were dirty, poorly kept, smelly, and mouldy, and the water was very dirty too. We were disappointed from check-in onward, including the condition of the room. I'd avoid booking here for now.

There's always something happening in the hall, which makes the place fun. The location is perfect, close to nearly everything, and the price is great if you book ahead. Staff are nice, and you can pay by credit card. Some of the facilities could use fixing, though.
