At 562 thousand rupiah a night, this felt very overpriced for an OYO-class homestay. There's a food stall behind it, and the lane leading there fits just one car. We had to take turns with another vehicle. We stepped out of the car into a muddy yard, with the smell of poultry droppings right away. There was also a small pool in front of the terrace, filled with very dirty water. The bedroom walls were damp, and the mattress sagged under me and my 20 kg child, even though I weigh only 62 kg. There was no hot water, and I noticed the water level dropping around before and after 6 p.m. In the bathroom, the only hanger was for towels, so we had to leave wrapped in one. The curtains were thin enough that we might have been visible from outside, and they were dirty too. The tube TV was dated, and both the AC and fan were dirty. The two electrical outlets were far from the bed and table, and dirty as well. The white towels looked clean but smelled like cigarettes, and the pillows were nasty. There was no breakfast. The homestay has that food stall I mentioned, but given all the questionable hygiene, I wouldn't eat there. I'm fed up, and I wouldn't stay again unless there are significant improvements. No wonder I gave it one star.

I think this lack of understanding of tourism among hotel and guesthouse providers is one reason Purbalingga tourism hasn't developed as much as in neighboring areas. This guesthouse is quite near Owabong, one of the town's main attractions. When I checked in, the price was 560,000 rupiah. I assumed that might be reasonable because I booked last minute during the busy year-end holiday period. On the phone, the woman also urged me to book through the OYO app, and I figured OYO would have standards for its partners, so I agreed. Breakfast wasn't included. The actual price can be seen in the photo.

The service was super friendly, and it's a comfortable homestay. I'd recommend it to friends needing a temporary place to rest while on vacation.

The place was clean, and the service was friendly in my experience. I arrived at 3 a.m. and they still served me. It's connected to an eating place too, so you don't have to go far to find food.

The room itself was pretty ordinary, but the owner’s kindness and helpful service made the stay feel like being welcomed by a new family. I’d definitely recommend it.
