The family running this homestay were sweet and helpful, and breakfast was delicious every morning: an omelet, Balinese pancake, and fresh tropical fruit that changed each day. I stayed six days and never got tired of it. It’s a simple place, not luxury, but clean and comfortable. I didn’t see bugs or ants in my room. The air conditioner took a while to cool things down, but once it did the room was nice. There’s only a sheet on the bed, though, no blanket, so I had to sleep in long pajamas with the aircon on. Without it, it would’ve been very hot. The location right by the ocean is hard to beat for the price. I snorkeled right out front every day and saw sea turtles, tropical fish, and colorful coral. You can rent snorkel gear from them for a good price. There’s a massage place next door, plus lots of local warungs and some nice restaurants just a short walk away. It was hard to leave. If you come to Amed, this is the place to stay.

The ocean is only about 20 steps from the door, and the big windows in our clean, spacious room made the location feel even more special. We had beautiful sunrises and sunsets during our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helped with everything I needed. A truly great stay!

The room was simple but nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and a phenomenal outdoor seating area where they provide tea and coffee. The bathroom was incredible: a good shower with hot water, and the first toilet I’d used in Indonesia that didn’t wobble or leak. Breakfast was delicious, with fruit juice, fruit, and a homemade banana pancake. There’s parking if you ask. This is a beautifully renovated homestay right on the beach in Amed. When you first arrive, it doesn’t seem like there’s a place to sit and enjoy the view, but the host leads you through a few small streets to the lovely room and its view.

The snorkeling spot is very close, whether you walk or swim there, and the sea life is beautiful. My week at Alur Beach Homestay was lovely. The room is right by the beach, so I could wake up to the sunrise and watch the sunset in the evening. The staff were friendly and accommodating. A recommended place to stay in Amed. The room itself was comfortable, and the place is really nice and right on the beach. But depending on which room you get, a rooster lives right next door and may wake you at 5:30 AM. It crowed nonstop until 10 AM for us, so we left after one night. The toilet also wasn’t cleaned well. You get what you pay for.
