Emocean Beach Boutique Resort

The dive instructor, Bastien from Belgium, is passionate about the ocean and his work. He’s a terrific guide, clearly knows his stuff, and showed us some really cool things underwater. The resort and dive center are right on the beach, with beautiful rooms and a very good restaurant. I’d recommend staying here and booking dives with him. It’s worth it.

Our room at emOcean was clean and suited us well between dives. We tried to reach the hotel to arrange diving, but got no replies, and when we arrived we learned there was no space left for us to dive with them. That was disappointing at first. We contacted another nearby company instead, and it turned out great: we got a private dive for much less than the hotel's group price. We didn’t eat there, so I can’t speak to the food.

Bastien, the Belgian instructor at the dive center, was professional and knows the Bali dive sites well. He took us to the famous USAT Liberty wreck and arranged the timing so we could dive it without the crowds. The rooms felt luxurious, with lovely open-air bathrooms, and the restaurant has a relaxing outdoor area and excellent food. The hotel is right by the beach in a peaceful part of Amed, which made it a comfortable and authentic stay. Easily the best hotel I’ve experienced in Bali. If you want beach access, diving, friendly service and great rooms, I’d recommend it.

We got our scuba certification here, and Bastien was a capable instructor who was also laid-back and fun. Thanks so much for teaching us! The place is beautiful, with great facilities, lovely rooms and friendly staff.
