Kelapa Cottage

We had a lovely stay at Kelapa Cottage. Our king room was spacious and really comfortable, and they tidied it up each day. The bathroom was nice too. Best of all, the cutest bunnies wander around the garden and keep it tidy. They really are adorable.

The free-roaming bunnies were a big hit with my kids, and the garden is well kept. The pool was clean and a comfortable temperature. Staff were friendly, and they offered good prices for motorbike rentals. We’d come back, but only if a cottage was available. The cottages were full, so we stayed in a room in the main house. It was just a standard room, much smaller than the cottages, and overpriced by comparison. The outdoor bathroom looks pretty, but still doesn’t make the room worth the money. The breakfast buffet is very expensive, so I can’t recommend it. If you’ve traveled around Asia, you’ll realize it’s overpriced. There are better options in Amed.

We found the main road, with restaurants and shops, was no more than a 15-minute walk away. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the pool has a shallow area for children. The bungalows are spacious and well equipped, with a large terrace out front. The location is amazing. Restaurant prices are a little high because the displayed price doesn’t include tax, though the food is very tasty. One of the best places we stayed in Bali.

It’s a quiet place with a really nice atmosphere, set back from the main street and offering plenty to do. We rented mopeds, had our laundry done, and tried the spa and massage service. There’s even a yoga studio at the back. The cottages were perfect, with a loft the kids loved and a well done open-air bathroom. The kids also loved the pool. Highly recommend.
