The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful with day trip planning and recommendations, so that’s where the three stars come from. The double room itself was another story. Dirt kept coming through the roof, the sheets had stains or paint on them, and there was rubbish in the shower. There was no shower head or hot water, which is pretty common in Bali, and at night a rat ran around in the room. Also, if you need a quiet night, be aware they have live music on Friday and Tuesday evenings, and it might keep you up all night.

The location in the main part of town is great, and the hostel was comfortable. The bathrooms were cool, though the doors had odd little slits in them. The AC could have been stronger. At 6 USD, it isn’t the cheapest hostel in Bali.

I expected to stay three nights, but I’ve now booked nine. Amed is a wonderful town, and Pacha makes a great base for exploring it. The bunks are roomy, with storage space, lockers and AC, and the bathrooms are large. There’s a relaxed reggae bar attached, with a pool table and lots of room for drinks. The location is awesome, the internet is steady, and the staff are great to banter with. Breakfast is included, with an omelette or pancake, fruit, and coffee or tea.

The staff were really friendly, and the room and bed were fine, though not great. There was no hot water, but the water wasn’t too cold for a nice shower. We did find blood stains on our bedsheets. Once we asked, they gave us fresh ones.

The rooms were clean and good, and the owners made me feel like family. They even let me use the bar kitchen to prepare my own food. Fridays have live music until 11pm, which is a nice chance to socialize and dance.
