Tapa Agung View

The views and fresh air made this a lovely place to get away from the busy pace, and our room was very clean. We arrived after getting sick at our previous hotel and needed a doctor. In the middle of the night, the staff kindly drove us there, and we felt looked after. A really special place. Thank you Tapa Agung. 💗

I’ll remember the view of Mt Agung, and the facilities were useful too, with a restaurant, gym, and swimming pool on site. The staff were very accommodating, especially Yuda at the restaurant. He knows a lot about the area and Balinese traditions. Looking forward to visiting again.

The view is incredible, and it’s very quiet here. I also had the best coffee I tried anywhere in Bali, and breakfast was good. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, which made the service the best part for me. There were some ants in the room, but they were harmless, and with nature all around, that seemed expected. If you have a driver, it’s a great base for staying in the north. Otherwise, I’d book at least one night.

The setting and grounds were beautiful, and the staff were friendly, but the stay felt poor value for the price. It reminded me more of a local penginapan with much higher rates. We did enjoy visiting the natural swimming pool in the valley below. Our deluxe mountain view room was small and basic, with substantial water damage on the walls. The valley and mountain scenery was nice, though the hotel’s promotion left out a large water management plant below. We heard construction noises and clanging on both Saturday and Sunday. Noise was a wider problem: the walls were thin, so other guests coming and going could be heard loudly. Our room faced the kitchen, and staff talking and shouting on the phone were clearly audible at 7 in the morning. A separate project just below the valley side of our room also started before 7am. The pool needed more cleaning and maintenance. Food was bland and short on flavor and spice, and one breakfast dish was so hurriedly made and burnt that it was nearly inedible. Given all of this, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel as a quiet retreat.
