Kampung Kecil Villa

I felt completely safe here travelling solo, and loved my three nights at Kampung Kecil. The staff were lovely, and the rooms are so unusual and amazing, almost like spending the night in a museum. There are three free beach shuttles each day, making it easy to reach the beach walk. Local warungs, a spa and a supermarket are also an easy walk away. It’s a stunning place, just book!

I’ve stayed in five different rooms over time, and every one has been spacious and beautiful, with huge bathrooms and lots of traditional Balinese artefacts. The garden and pool are gorgeous, and the staff are great. There are plenty of good local places to eat within walking distance, including an excellent satay stall nearby. Turn left at the main gate and walk 50m.

We chose Kampung Kecil for its design even though I’d originally wanted to stay by the beach, and I’m glad we did. Villa Kudus, where we spent two nights, was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful, intricate details. The service was lovely, and we really enjoyed breakfast. I also got to see Purwadadi, another stunning villa, and would love to stay there next time. The pool area was beautiful, with floaties and toys for children, though we didn’t use it. I’d heard people mention street noise, but I only noticed it from the bathroom, and I don’t spend time lounging in there. There are cafes, salons and a supermarket nearby. The property offers drop-offs three times a day, but we didn’t use them since Grab is so cheap and the timing didn’t work for us.

We used this place for a one-night stop between our flight and ferry to Lombok. It was quiet and tucked away, with beautiful rooms, a peaceful pool and traditional Balinese style, just what we needed. The staff communicated well before we arrived and were very helpful during the stay. Thanks for having us. We’ll be back!
