Prama Sanur Beach Bali

The kids had a good time on the pool slides, but other places have those too. What really disturbed me was seeing a cook leave a bathroom stall after using it for number two without washing his hands, then head straight into the kitchen. The stay itself was fine, but the hotel feels lacking in several ways for a place advertised as five-star. Compared with other five-star hotels we’ve stayed at in Bali, the rooms, staff, breakfast buffet, pools, and pretty much everything else were much nicer elsewhere. I’d rate this one 3.5 stars at best.

For a business trip, the friendly and responsive staff and excellent pool were definite highlights. I stayed a week and appreciated being told in advance about evening events during the last three days, which ran until around 10:30 PM. The trouble was that some event guests kept hanging around and making noise until midnight, and the rooms aren’t very soundproof. Staff tried to remind them, but with the events it was understandably hard to control. It might suit a staycation or holiday if you want to use the facilities and pool, but it may not be peaceful enough for business travelers hoping to relax after work. We stayed with family in adjoining ocean-view rooms on 17 August to celebrate our second child’s birthday. The rooms were tidy, fairly quiet, and comfortable for resting, with a lovely ocean view. The hotel was busy during our visit, but it still felt comfortable and well managed, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. The kids enjoyed the several pools, especially the children’s pool with a slide. There’s a beachfront area, and evenings often bring live music. We also liked being able to rent bicycles to ride along the beachfront path. The restaurant has a unique concept, and the breakfast buffet was quite complete. A very enjoyable family stay. We came to celebrate our 10-year anniversary, and we’re two nights into a 14-night stay. So far, so good. Everyone from the front desk to dining and room cleaning has been top notch. There’s enough vegan food at breakfast to fill us up, though vegan pancakes would be amazing. A tiny detail 🤣 The grounds are huge and gorgeous, and the location is perfect, with a private beach. We’d imagined swimming in the sea every day, but didn’t realize the water was so shallow. Oops 🤣. We’d consider coming back every year despite the 30 hours of travel from Belgium, but only if a sea-view room is available. We love sitting on the balcony looking at the water.
