The Rooftop opens at 4 pm, just in time for sunset, and the 360 Semarang view is really interesting. There’s a bar up there too, and I thought it was worth it. Inside, the artsy minimalist design, warm lighting, and spacious room made the stay feel relaxing. Getting to the center of the action was quick and easy. We stayed four days and three nights. Finding the way in was confusing at first. The best route seemed to be through the exit hallway to the Basement, then the elevator on the left up to the Lobby. Getting in and out of the room was quick, since you could also leave directly through Basement (B). A small thing that could be improved is the restaurant wiring, which could be tidied away or made less visible. If I’m in Semarang again, Artotel is one of the places I’d recommend.

The practical little touches make this a cozy place to rest, especially the conveniently placed electric sockets. I also loved the overall ambiance and the thoughtful details. The lobby and bathroom are particularly beautiful and well designed, and you can feel the creativity in the space.

The service was five-star. The location was fine too, but the parking area is tiny, so you need to ask for valet parking. It’s free for travelers staying there. The room felt old, though it was still okay. For the price, it could use some improvement. So far, it’s almost excellent.

On this trip, ARTOTEL really won me over. I was away from home on a business trip and feeling a bit lonely because it was my birthday. When I checked in, a staff member noticed and I jokingly asked if there might be cake or something. She gave me a pizza for free. That was such a lovely surprise and great service. I’ve always chosen ARTOTEL Gajahmada when I visit Semarang for work or leisure, and this made it my favorite place to stay there. 11/10, truly recommend, no cap.

The hotel is small but artistic and comfortable, and the location is really nice. It’s very close to the city center without being too crowded. Parking is very limited, though, so valet is needed all the time.
