My room had a messy bed, and the bathroom door wouldn’t lock. I was uneasy because the key I’d been given seemed able to open another room too, and there had already been someone inside the first room I was assigned. I’d booked through the app, but on arrival they still asked for another 50,000 Rupiah. The elevator was out, so I had to haul myself up the steep stairs to the 4th floor.

I’d read the reviews and wasn’t sure about booking, but it was the only place around Simpang Lima for about 150 thousand, so I went for it. The staff greeted me with a warm smile, and there was an elevator. My 4th-floor room was clean and smelled fresh. It had card access, a welcome drink, cold AC, working hot water, and soft, fresh-smelling towels. The bed cover was clean too. For 150 thousand, this was wow. If I could give it 7 stars, I would. Good quality, cool price, top.

Parking was tight, and the hallways were filthy with trash. There were no towels, soap, shampoo, or other toiletries, and the toilet was dirty. The bathroom smelled bad, with slimy floors and walls. Inside the room, the mattress and blankets were unclean, the blankets had black spots, and my body got itchy. The AC didn’t cool, the TV wouldn’t turn on, and the Wi-Fi signal was weak. The ceiling looked worn, the door seemed a little damaged, and staff were unfriendly and didn’t communicate well. I was also asked for another Rp 27,000 after booking and paying through Agoda. The elevator was broken, so getting to the 3rd floor was exhausting. If you wanted a refund after booking through the app, you had to call a number, which was very difficult. Those are some of the reasons I was disappointed. I’d suggest staying somewhere else, even if it costs a little more. If you don’t believe me, try it yourself, hehe.

The app listed 107 thousand, but at the hotel they said the original price was 150 and wanted me to pay more. The AC didn’t work, the TV was completely dead, and the electricity token ran out twice. They asked me to top it up, but I refused. If you haven’t been here, I’d suggest staying away. If you’ve already booked, get a refund. Calling this a hotel feels wrong, it’s more like a human storage warehouse.
