OYO 1508 Mascot Beach Hotel

It's a relaxing, quiet hotel and a great place to stay. Still, it gets a bit scary at night because I've seen a ghost here.

Being here with my friends felt like a vacation at our grandparents' house, tucked away somewhere quiet but right beside the beach. There was a swimming pool too. Loved it, and it really suits family time!

The villas are right beside a nice beach, so getting to the shore is easy. That's the only thing I liked. Staff were generally inattentive, and the rooms were dirty, run-down and had ants and cockroaches. Water from the showers spread all over the bathroom, making it annoying to use the toilet afterwards. Neither of the two Wi-Fi channels worked, and the food was nothing special at best. For the price, it was absurd. I wish I could get that night back. We left once the problems became clear.

Being right on the beach was the one good thing for us. The rooms felt neglected and sparse: items like the fridge and phone were missing or broken, and the bathroom setup was odd, with shower water running into the middle of the floor. We moved because our first room was dirty. The replacements had ants everywhere and cockroaches in the bathrooms. When we reported the pests, the manager was sitting on the outdoor deck watching loud TikTok videos. We were handed a can of bug spray as the fix. Most staff seemed absent, inattentive, and unhelpful, though the gardeners were kind. Food at the hotel restaurant was poor too. Their fried noodles were Indomie with a few extra vegetable slices and an egg; street vendors serve better. They only wanted cash and wouldn't take cards, which made us think they might be avoiding taxes. I also wondered if staff were often left unpaid, given how little they seemed to care. We packed up and left.
