Hotel Wisata Baru

I keep choosing this hotel because I can usually get a room without a smoke smell. All the rooms are smoking rooms, though, and the smell can creep in when other guests smoke outside. The AC is positioned so its air blows toward the door, which helps keep the smoke smell out. I hope they set up smoke-free rules someday. The hotel is near the market area, Masjid Jami, and a military compound, but it's quiet despite that. Local shops, street food, an herbal pharmacy, and medical clinics are all around it. There's a lot of indoor space, including a kids' corner. On an earlier stay, I had a large deluxe room with a clean bathroom, comfortable bed, and cool AC. There's also a wedding convention area inside. Some guests had left cigarette burns on the furniture, and the towels felt rough. Smokers can smoke anywhere, so the owner should make a separate smoking area away from non-smokers.

The staff were good, and the hotel is near the city center. My room looked comfortable, and the food was pretty standard. The Wi-Fi was slower than my mobile data, there was no elevator, and the AC wasn't cool even at 16°C. There were also a few mosquitoes in the room when I arrived.

We were pleasantly surprised by the cable TV and the good breakfast selection. The deluxe room was clean, with standard amenities, and the staff were friendly and professional. For the price, it felt like very good value. There's also an affordable family suite for three or four people. The hotel is just 200 meters from Serang train station, which connects Serang with Rangkasbitung and Merak. The city center and market are a five-minute walk away. There isn't an elevator, so older guests or anyone with mobility issues should book a ground-floor room. The hot water wasn't working while we were there. Still, we had a great impression and would stay again when we return.

A comfortable little hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. You can find good food nearby, including mee bakso and satay. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.
