The breakfast was a real bright spot, with proper chicken most mornings. Staff were polite and checked every day whether I wanted cleaning or fresh towels. When I casually asked if they had mosquito spray, someone brought it over straight away. There’s a small pool too, nothing fancy, but I enjoyed a swim after a long time without one. The cabin itself had serious problems. In “Puger,” insects in the roof left what looked like wood dust on my clothes, blanket, and laptop, and birds nesting overhead got noisy at night. A villager lit a fire right beside the cabin one day, which felt unsafe. The bathroom floor stayed wet because the shower wasn’t separated, and I slipped once. The bidet hose also leaked. I stayed in March 2024 and arrived without a booking. Their Instagram post from 11 March 2023 listed the Standard room at 200,000 IDR, but they first asked me for 250,000 IDR. They only agreed to the posted rate after a brief argument, calling it a special discount for me. If the price had changed, that old post should have been updated or removed. The whole exchange felt misleading. The receipt was a mess as well. The older man at reception took my passport but got both my full name and country wrong, so the receipt wasn’t in my name and had no legal value. I don’t understand why he was handling reception. My final night was awful for sleep. The nearby mosques chanted until about 9:30 p.m. and started again at 4 a.m. Before 6, gunshots went off in the village for roughly 40 minutes. With all that noise, I couldn’t rest and didn’t feel safe. I was also stunned by the owner’s response to another guest’s review mentioning cockroaches and rat droppings. The owner said a bad review could hurt the property’s good name and the management’s livelihood. That response seemed focused on reputation, with no concern about fixing the problems. It felt selfish and disrespectful to a guest who had already endured a lot there.

It was peaceful here, and the staff were wonderfully welcoming. The rooms are nice for the price, and the place is close enough to the city with lots of great food spots nearby. I’ll stay here again when I’m back.

Rice fields right in front of reception give this place a lovely, cultural feel. They can arrange activities out there too. It’s quiet enough that you sometimes hear frogs and insects, and the whole setting brought back a feeling of old times. A nice escape from the crowds in Jogja.

The activities made our outing with foreigners really enjoyable. Staff were helpful and offered quite a few things to try. I especially liked painting batik, the poultry class, planting paddy, and the duck-catching game. The food was incredible too.
