Yabbiekayu Eco Bungalows

A local in town recommended this hidden treasure, and we were glad we went. The owners were so kind and showed us around their homestay, then shared some really good advice. The food was amazing and came entirely from their own garden. If sustainability matters to you, that makes the visit even more interesting. The day passed so quickly, and I really wish we'd been able to stay longer. We felt comfortable and had such a lovely time. Next time we're in Yogyakarta, we'll definitely come back 😊.

I can't fault this restaurant or hotel, it has everything you could want. The produce, flavors, and presentation are all 10/10, and the views are stunning. Staff are kind and helpful too. Breakfast is my favorite!

We came back to Yabbiekayu for a much-needed staycation and to celebrate my child's birthday. We'd loved the ambience on our previous visit, so this time we had dinner and breakfast delivered to our bungalow, spent the day in the garden, and took a dip in the nearby pool. Our favorite menu item is the pikelet, and we found the paddock-to-table idea really interesting. We brought home a jar of the restaurant's delicious chai. Making a warm cup of Yabbiekayu chai at home takes us back to that quiet, relaxing time there.

The whole-food dishes we ordered were a delight, especially the grilled tempe. I was really impressed by their special seasoning recipe. I can tell it must've taken lots of research and development to get it right. We also had sate tempe and chicken rica, and the flavor stayed with me even after I got back to my bungalow. So comforting! Everything seemed organic and thoughtfully prepared. They even served a cold drink to have with the food.
