1000 Dream Bungalow & Restaurant

Dear 1000 Dream, thanks to all of you for such a relaxing, wonderful holiday. You made the getaway we’d hoped for happen, and we hope we get to see you again.

The garden is beautifully kept, and I was struck by how well maintained the whole place is compared with other places I’ve stayed in Bali. My room looked a little dated, but it was cared for and I had no complaints. I even worried when I first saw the shower, which looked like a giant bird, but it turned out to be one of the best I’ve used in ages. There are daybeds by the pool, good food at the hotel, and a few other dining options nearby if you want a change. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. They can arrange activities, too, which makes this a handy base for exploring North Bali. It’s a small, quiet, family-run place right on the beach, with incredible sea and sunset views. I’d recommend it for a few days up north.

The scenery here really impressed us, and I won't forget the sea at sunrise or how welcoming the staff and owner were. We were only there for less than 20 hours, so I can’t offer many details beyond our rushed photos. We didn’t spot dolphins after two hours, unfortunately, but I hope others have better luck. The other guests were friendly too, much like the owner. It took about three and a half hours to get here from the airport. The room was simple, more like a youth hostel, with only shampoo and shower gel provided, no hairdryer, toothbrush, or other items. There was a power cut, but staff arrived promptly. Their service was very good, especially the owner, who warmly asks guests how they’re doing at breakfast. For visitors from elsewhere, I’d give the scenery full marks, and the owner’s attitude full marks as well. The hotel has a clean swimming pool that seems good for kids, and a plug adapter you can borrow. You can ask the owner to book a boat for dolphin watching or snorkeling the next day: chartering for dolphins costs 500K, and snorkeling costs 800K. An extra bed is 270K.

Dian and her staff really made our stay special. They’re wonderful and go out of their way for guests. The restaurant serves tasty food and drinks from a varied menu, and there’s a fresh water pool beside the beach. The chalets are thoughtfully laid out and sit among lush greenery. 1000 Dream Bungalow in Lovina felt like a peaceful little refuge.
